Had there been anyone to listen
Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi. Venezia. 2021
In the depths of the subsoil, beyond the reach of any human ear, underground and superficial movements create majestic melodies. Caterina Gobbi has sampled these vibrations in the Mont Blanc area using special microphones. The artist presents a collection of hypogean voices in an original soundscape to reflect on perception and the relationship between man, machine, and nature. During the performance, the artist moves around wearing a copper structure to which loudspeakers are connected. While walking, Gobbi reproduces the sounds sampled in the high mountains, using the apparatus as if it were expanding her body.Extract from the press release
