In centinaia di migliaia di anni abbiamo imparato che quando gli uccelli cantano tutto va bene
Castello Gamba. Aosta. 2019
The piece “In centinaia di migliaia di anni abbiamo imparato che quando gli uccelli cantano tutto va bene”, is a sonic investigation of the mountain landscape. It questions the existing relationship between humans and their natural surroundings. The performance leads its visitors inside as well as outside of the Museum as a walk through six steps. It underlines the sculptural aspect of sound, its ability to fill spaces, create relations and transmit sensations. The relationship between humankind and nature is a fictional dialogue. It resembles an arrogant monologue as the only possible interpretation is one made by the human who is imposing their knowledge as the essence of the universe. We become cyborgs, chimeras, theorized hybrids and fabrications of machine and organisms (D.Haraway). We remain in the romantic contemplation of the sublime. Impotent in front of this major force, we listen to it, because sound is the only entity between us and its power.
